Our Story:
Homeless Helpers in Grand Forks began in 2018 when a small group of compassionate community members recognized that many people experiencing homelessness had nowhere to turn when other resources were unavailable. Determined to fill that gap, they started with simple grassroots efforts—selling candy and raising small donations—to provide immediate help such as food and basic necessities. As community support grew, so did the organization’s impact. In 2020, Homeless Helpers officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing the group to expand its work and strengthen partnerships throughout the community. Today, Homeless Helpers continues its mission: when no other assistance is available, providing temporary shelter, food, and essential resources to those experiencing homelessness in the Grand Forks community while advocating for individuals and connecting them with vital referrals and support services.
